- ADEPE has contributed to the establishment of Rubavu early development center (ECD)in partnership with Rubavu District seeking to address the prevailing challenge preventing children to benefit from good early emotional, cognitive development. This improved health status of children who were left at the Rwanda border with RDC by the mothers pursuing their business activities under the cross-border trade. Children were being looked after by the siblings who couldn’t also attend school regularly.
- It is known that early childhood development is a critical factor for the cognitive, emotional and physical progress of individuals. Moreover, proper childhood development depends to a large extent on adequate prenatal care for the mother, childbirth performed under adequate medical supervision, and suitable and proper preventive and curative medical attention during childhood.
